Currently America is occupying Iraq until Iraq becomes stable so they can handle their own problems without the help of the USA. There are much opposition to the occupation of Iraq from the US and Iraq because it is not going well and tons of US soldiers and Iraqis are dying every day. Also the some people say Iraq was better under the leadership of Saddam Hussein. The main reason of the violence in Iraq is the oppositions between the 3 ethnic groups Sunni, Shi’a, and the Kurds. In order to make Iraq better and stable the USA has four main solutions they are options to help Iraq it is the increase USA presence in Iraq, Provide Iraq the means to succeed, withdraw USA troops immediately, and divide Iraq into 3 countries. In class a debate was done in class that was about which decision the US should take in the occupation of Iraq in order to finish the war in Iraq.

I think the best option for the USA is option 4 to divide Iraq into 3 countries in order to make fewer conflicts between the Sunni, Shi’a, and the Kurds. Before the occupation of the Britain and the US, Iraq was ruled by the Ottoman Empire into three different regions and there were no conflicts. So, Iraq should be divided into three countries so no conflicts will occur. The only problem dividing Iraq is how to divide them equally for there natural resources like oil. The only region that has no oil is the Sunni region. It will be a problem but if the UN helps this program it could go smoothly.

Genocide is the way humans are. I think it is the way humans are because genocides were already happening since very long time ago. You can tell this from history. For example, in Spain right now most people are catholic but long time ago there were many Muslim people living in the country. Now there are few left in the country.

I think genocides can be stopped in the future. It will become not inevitable because of the way that school teaches. In schools they teach history very importantly. In history they teach the horrible events very carefully like the Holocaust so, it would not be repeated.

Title: Venezuela ’sends tanks to border’

I read the article about Venezuela sending tanks to the border of Colombia. Hugo Chavez told Colombia that they will close the embassy in Colombia because Chavez thinks that the president of Colombia killed the top commander of the left wing Farc rebel in Ecuador. President Chavez was mediating with the Farc to release the hostages and six people were freed so far. Chavez states that if this happens in Venezuela a war will happen between Colombia and Venezuela.

After reading the article I had few questions. The first question is what is Farc. I did not really understand the article because I didn’t know what it was. On internet I found out that Farc is a terrorist group in Colombia and its name is Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army. Farc has about 6000-8,000 members and is guerrilla movement. They are in 15-20 percent of Colombia’s territory especially in southeaster jungles and Andes Mountains. The next question was why Chavez got angry at Colombia when they killed a commander of Farc in Ecuador. Another question is why Chavez thought that “Colombia “invaded Ecuador, flagrantly violated Ecuador’s sovereignty”.” The last question is why Chavez closed the embassy of Venezuela in Ecuador.

I think back ground information of Farc and Venezuela will help me understand more a bout the article because it only said that Chaves was trying to free the hostages from Farc. The back ground information of Farc and Venezuela will be interesting.

“What is done cannot be undone”——– Does this define who you are? Can you escape past deeds? Are you a product of what you have done?

I think you cannot escape from past deeds because it will stay with u forever even if someone else doesn’t know. The action in the past will affect who you are because the action in the past defines who and what you are. It defines you because the actions were made by the decisions that were made. The actions made in the past makes you a product of what you have done. When you take a action and you mistake you learn new stuff.
